There are sometimes attractions of areas that are inexplicable. Since adolescence I have been fascinated, among other things, by Chinese and Japanese art without really understanding its origins. A fascination that has continued during years of training at art school until today.
Born in Paris, I also found other sources of inspiration very early on such as the works of the English painter Joseph M. W. Turner and Claude Monet who, for me, evoked the beginnings of a form of abstraction of nature, suggestive.

A calligraphy that moves like music or dance, two arts of suggestion.
Strong beats that plays together with weak beats in harmony. The ink settles on the paper, strong and thick imprints
underlined by the weaker, complicit lines, but instantaneously.
Elaborate in immediate gestures as string quartet translates during a musical piece where one instrument stands out
for a few beats and the others underline the power of the phrasing. Like the movement and gesture of the street dancer in space
with force and amplitude that complements other smaller gestures in a finer and more subtle tempo….A heartbeat; a breath.

But my creation does not stop there. I like that this calligraphic writing blends into a setting that extend its story.
Spark the imagination with the aid of digital technology. A technique that I have learned to master over many years.
I work on the shades, grind them, knead them, as I would with natural pigments. The contribution of colours and textures
to create a nameless landscape but rich in mass and shapes which provoke or induce an entire imaginary universe
unique to everyone….it makes me think of a…., it looks like a…!
